From the Heart and Desk of the President…

Greetings Sorors, Neighbors and Friends,

Welcome to our website!

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. was established in 1913, on the campus of Howard University, by twenty-two college women whose ideal was to dedicate themselves to public service.  Our chapter, having been established in 1927, and currently known as the Houston Alumnae Chapter (HAC) is celebrating 88 years of public service to the Houston community.  We endeavor to uphold the principles of our sorority by focusing on the Five Programmatic Thrusts:  Educational Development, Economic Development, International Awareness and Involvement, Physical and Mental Health and Political Awareness and Involvement.

On behalf of the 595 members of the Houston Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, Incorporated, I would like to thank you for taking the time to visit our website.  Here we look forward to providing you with information and news briefs of our activities in the community.  Here, you will see opportunities to share in the support of our programs as we work together to support our community.  We look forward to working specifically with you in Educational Enrichment, Civic Engagement and Building Coalitions.

Come out, get involved, and work with us to improve the Houston landscape.  We look forward to having you!

Sincere Regards,

Christine Criner Smith

45th President
